Testimonials

Katie is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to assistive technology and I am so grateful for her expertise. Finding tools and figuring out which ones make sense for my students can be overwhelming on top of normal curriculum development, planning, and teaching. Katie filtered tools, presented them in an organized format, and framed them within an overarching context of best practices for students with special needs. Hers was a valuable training that will translate immediately to support for my students.

Katie was very patient and kind in explaining all the different assistive technologies for my son. Even though he is in college, he still needed quite a bit of help in his classes. She is very knowledgeable and worked hard to ensure that he would have a successful semester. I would highly recommend her to help any student no matter what grade they are in!

I am so impressed with Katie and her knowledge to support kiddos like mine. She has such a wonderful kind presence about her that makes any child warm up easily. My daughter was hesitant to learn more about what supports she needed with technology. Katie made it very easy and simple with step by step for her to understand. She has so many tools to help make kiddos school and homework easier. She works with teachers and professionals to make sure everyone is on the same page. I always tell parents what a gift she has been to my daughter and our family. We will be using her for my younger daughter as well!

Our daughter, Olive, had an amazing experience working one on one with Katie, her assistive technology coach, during the AT summer camp. This camp was truly a game changer for Olive. Katie began by having a one-hour call with us (parents only) to gain insight into Olive’s specific needs at school. Olive, who is 10 years old and has dyslexia, has been granted various accommodations, but she required guidance on how to effectively utilize them. Katie’s parent session was incredibly valuable as she shared information and resources that we were unaware of.

Following the parent session, Olive had the privilege of having three additional one-hour camp sessions with Katie, conducted on a one-on-one basis via Zoom. These sessions were absolutely fantastic, and Olive learned so much! Katie invested the time to truly understand Olive’s learning style and focused on what would be most beneficial for her day-to-day. They explored a wide range of tech platforms that were tailored to Olive’s specific needs. Katie even introduced newer technologies that replaced some of Olive’s previous supports. Olive finished each session excited to schedule her next one, thoroughly enjoying the time spent with Katie.

Now that school is underway, we eagerly anticipate scheduling some refresher and amplified support sessions. This camp was undeniably a huge game changer for Olive, and we believe it will have the same impact for other children with learning differences as well!
